This year I’m researching a little more deeply into the subject of immortality. Immortality can mean different things to different people, and I believe there’s no clear-cut definition. We could say that immortality is living forever, but we know that is highly unlikely. I think that most of us can agree that living for over 500 years, and even living up to 1,000 or 2,000 years, can be classed as immortality. Those of you who follow me, already know that my goal is to live for over 500 years, and I believe it’s entirely possible for me to do so. Many people have the idea that living for an extremely long time AND retaining youthful looks, with the emphasis on looking young, is what immortality is about. There are others who believe that immortality is ONLY living for an extremely long time, and retaining a youthful appearance is unimportant. While others would agree that it would be both beneficial to live an extremely long life, while trying to retain as youthful appearance as possible, but knowing that focusing on longevity is ultimately more important than focusing on retaining a youthful appearance, even though all of us would like to look young for as long as possible. Of course, no matter what our outward appearance may be with regards to beauty or good looks, it is maintaining a healthy body and mind that should be the focus of anyone who is striving for immortality. We can all agree that at an advanced age, it would be pointless to have a healthy body, and a mind that no longer functions correctly anymore, just as it would be equally pointless to have a healthy mind at an advanced age, and a body that has become decrepit, and riddled with diseases, pain and ailments, that would cause the person to detest the idea of living for an extended period of time. With all that being said, we should be able to agree that when it comes to immortality, we need to strike a comfortable balance between living as long as possible, for at least 200 or 300 years, while at the same time taking the necessary actions to ensure a healthy body internally, and a youthful outward appearance. This is just a basic blog post with the aim of defining a basic understanding of immortality, so that we can arrive at a mutual agreement of what immortality means for us, and the goal that we should be striving for. In future blog posts, I will be going more in depth on the subject of immortality, as I research the subject more deeply. If you have a different opinion or idea of what immortality means to you, then please do leave a comment and share your opinion with our community, so that we may all benefit.
